Hurricane preparedness checklist
Hurricane’s: depending on their movement hurricanes can hit South Florida at any time from June until November. This is a list I have prepared for Royal Park in case any hurricanes, floods or other catastrophes hit.
Have enough rope as possible
Remove all globes from lights
Tie down all of the recycle bins around trees
Tie down all of the picnic tables to the nearest trees
Tie down all of the pool chairs and tables to the fences around the pool (South and Canal)
Clubhouse pool equipment, chairs, table and umbrellas will need to be taken into the clubhouse.
Pool equipment by all of the pool heaters need to be cleared of all debris
Remove all of the door mats and anything loose around the catwalks
Remove all of the loose pot plants and ornaments around the buildings
Remove the front Gate open until further notice
Send all elevators to the 4th floor and turn off the main power = this will keep them from flooding and all electrical safe.
Clear and secure all loose items in maintenance shed
Residences need to Clear Patios & Balconies and Designate a Safe Room
Remove any hanging branches from trees
Water and electric will need to be shut off to every building’s common areas.
Unplug Electronics in the office
Make sure there are no loose Exit, Flood lights around every building
Make sure every door to Laundry, Elevator, Electric and Bike rooms are properly locked
Porta Potty by the guard gate needs to be sure that it is secured
Residences need to Stay Tuned: Keep the radio or TV tuned to emergency frequencies, the local news, or the weather channel for regular updates.
Electricity Shut Off: Residents should turn off the electricity prior to leaving, using the breaker panels in their units.
